Colson was attentive to today's session on Real Estate investments, Bonds, and CD's. Unfortunately, Colson failed to submit a completed Business Plan Project today even after granting him a 3-day extension.last week.
I discussed the need for him to pay closer attention to the specific requirements provided on the Project information sheet and to increase his effort to produce acceptable/complete work.

Completion and submission of Business Plan Project: Review of content and progress of student's 4-year Business Plan Project for a Raising Cane's franchise. Project due date was today 5/8 and there were several requirements of this project that were missing and/or incomplete. Annual Income with 25% yearly increase is needed along with total yearly employee labor costs. The Return on Investment R.O.I. is the capstone requirement which
can be determined when the previously mentioned income and labor cost data is calculated.

Today's session with Colson was primarily to review the Business Plan Project . The project due date was today 5/8 and there were several requirements of this project that were missing and/or incomplete. Annual Income with 25% yearly increase is needed along with total yearly employee labor costs. The Return on Investment R.O.I. is the capstone requirement which can be determined when these previously mentioned income and labor cost data is calculated. Example calculations were shown/demonstrated to facilitate Colson's need to do similar calculations as needed for his project.
Completion of Business Plan Project: Research for estimating the monthly costs for electricity/AC, security alarms, and company Website marketing/advertising. Review of how the Return on Investment should be calculated.

During today's session on Bonds as investments, Colson was well focused and understood why U.S. Government bonds are a "safe" investment. He also continued his project development work for his "Raising Cane's" Business Plan due next week.

During today's session. Colson worked very productively with me to begin the detailed development of a 4-year business plan for a Raising Cane's restaurant franchise. Cost estimates for leasing and employee labor costs along with monthly/annual income forecasts were made using realistic assumptions for sales growth and inflation.
Business Plan Project classwork. Outline of major sections required for the 4-year business plan. Start-up costs, continuing monthly/annual costs, projected monthly and annual income (gross income from sales), Calculation of annual profit. Allowance for annual inflation requiring adjustment of employee wages. Annual percentage growth (Income) goals.

Financial Literacy Mini-Project: Business Plan: Instructions and Requirements for a Mini-Project Business Plan explained in detail to the student. Project information sheet given to the student which lists the specific items to be completed within a detailed 4-year Business Plan for a small business of the student's choosing. Start-up costs, continuing monthly costs (taxes, insurance, utilities), reserve funds, and labor costs (payroll). Projections for monthly and annual sales amounts, profit calculations and Return On Investment R.O. I.
