Baylie and I worked on and an image of a man crossing his arms. We had designed the basic structure of the character in a previous class, so we focused on creating and positioning the arms of the figure. Once the arms were complete, we moved on to illustrating the hands.
After opening in prayer, Baylie completed her two workbook pages. The emphasis of today's lesson was moral awareness/moral value. She was asked to look up at least 15 verses and answer questions that related to the verses. She wrote her new memory verses: 1 Peter 1:14-16. After completing her assignment, she defined and gave examples of parables from the Bible. She then created a parable in which she was asked to use herself and her best friend, Annie, as characters. When Baylie finished speaking the parable, she asked me to guess the lesson that was to be learned from it. "Help people without judgement and forgiveness."
Baylie continued to work on the Asian essay exam. The majority of the essay is complete, she just needs to write the conclusion and edit the paper. It is due tomorrow.

Judie, just thought you'd like to know that Baylie's mom is in the hospital. She went to the doctor yesterday and he/she had Mrs. Wainwright hospitalized. Baylie said it was out of caution - dehydration. Please forgive my spelling/typing errors in this note.
Baylie read chapter three of the novel The Hiding Place. We discussed the theme and character development of the protagonist. Upon completion, she continued editing her reflection essay which is due next week.
We continued working on Everything Has Changed. We played through the entire song, and Baylie did an outstanding job playing it. We then began working on barre chord technique and placement. We focused on 6 string major and minor barre chords around the 7th fret, which creates the B and Bm barre chords.

We worked on problems 20 through 39 and discussed examples provided in the text. Problems dealt with real and irrational numbers and square roots.

Baylie continues to do solid work and keeps pace with her class. She has a quiz tomorrow on content in her text from 12-2 through 12-4 and I'm confident she will handle it well.
We continued working on Everything Has Changed. We corrected our chord chart to include an omitted Em chord during the pre-chorus. We continued working on the strum pattern, and played through the entire song. We also addressed drop tuning the guitar to play first position chords while playing in the same key as the original recording. We tuned the entire guitar down 1/2 step as opposed to playing with a capo and having to use barre chords.

Baylie began her chapter 16 essay exam. We discussed an outline and organizational chart for her assignment. The essay is to include examples of how religions hindered progress and freedom in Asia , the five major religions of Asia and their geographic source, and examples of the results of Christianity in Asia. Baylie had an excellent start to this assignment today.
