We worked on problems solving for a system of equations by adding or subtracting them to isolate variables and determine an ordered pair solution.

I introduced Baylie to silhouette and construction. We watched the following video to help with the concept.

Today Baylie watched three videos on The Great Wall of China. A discussion took place after she watched each video. Baylie had to complete a chart on The Great Wall of China. On this chart she had to state what she already knew, what she learned and what questions she had about this topic. Upon completion of this assignment, Baylie took an open note/video quiz on the continent of Asia. Baylie continues to put forth maximum effort in her studies.

After opening with prayer, Baylie wrote her Bible verse (Revelation 4:11) 2Xs. She read the questions and answers, aloud, that she was assigned for HW. We discussed in more detail how to deal with our emotions. Some examples were given: Some people numb themselves, some become overly busy, some do anything to feel good, and some run away. Baylie stated that she likes to pray when she feels keyed up about something.

We began the session by reading the first two chapters of the novel The Hiding Place. Then Baylie took a vocabulary assessment test. We then narrowed her thesis for the upcoming cause and effect essay.

We worked on problems assigned related to systems of equations.

Baylie began the lesson by completing the checkup questions on the religions of China. Next she read about the geographical features and dynasties of China. These dynasties began with the Shang dynasty to the Ch'ing dynasty. Baylie did an excellent job reading and responding appropriately to the questions from the text and from her instructor.

After opening with prayer, Baylie wrote her memory verse, Revelation 4:11, 2Xs. She began Lesson 10, Topic 2's questions. After looking up nine verses from the Old and New Testaments, she answered workbook questions about them. The questions were in different formats and quite thought provoking. She will complete the second page of questions for HW tonight.

We discussed the topic for her upcoming cause and effect essay. We then began reading The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom.

We began learning the song Everything Has Changed. We worked through the chord progression and the rhythmic strum pattern. We talked about dropped tuning on the guitar since this song is played tuned 1/2 step down from standard tuning. However, we did not retune the guitars for this session, but we played the song in standard tuning.
