Baylie’s teacher left directions for us to work on a Blookit exercise.
Today we looked a little closer at the strategies involved with the blookit game. This was a great opportunity to engage in entertaining critical thinking. Just one of the items that we discussed is the math involved in the game and how higher levels of the game will be more easily overcome by game pieces that do damage in the form of a percentage as opposed to a static number.
We continued working on forming and moving barre chords. We also worked on playing the lead intro to I'm Yours while simultaneously playing the rhythm part. We began working on a technique called combined picking, where the melody part is plucked with the back 3 fingers while the thumb and forefinger hold the pick and strum as usual.
Baylie and I watched a series of videos assigned by her teacher on the Doppler effect. Baylie was then charged with writing a short piece about the Doppler effect.
Baylie came up with a great example of the Doppler effect involving a swan.
We then worked on the Section 11.2 review from her textbook.
The session began with a map geography quiz. Baylie was asked to answer a series of geography questions on the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. She answered all of the questions correctly. Next she had a brief review of the impact of mission work and missionaries in Asia. Baylie also discussed the Renaissance and how it changed the world during that time period. She ended the review session playing a Kahoot game about the Crusades. Baylie should do very well on her World History exam. She is an excellent student!
