intro to Reading Workshop. We discussed how to choose a book to read. Kellan and I went to the library and he chose a novel called, "Four Eyes". We will use this novel in reading workshop to practice reading comprehension skills.
Kellan used KWL prereading strategies to gain a deeper understanding of the short story "Jenna and the Black Cat." He was then able to answer reading comprehension questions after we read.
Richard and I read and discussed the article "Roberto Clemente Photo Exhibit Debuts at PNC Park." www.mlb.com/news/roberto-clemente-photo-exhibit-debuts-at-pnc-park. We ended session with reading and discussing the last 2-3 chapters of the book: "Who was Roberto Clemente?"

This was a sub assignment during 6th period (my open period on Tuesday.) Richard was a great listener and on task. He was also active and interested in the discussions of Roberto Clemente.
Jase read two short passages on cause and effect, and problem and solution. He completed two follow-up activities on the passages. He viewed the accompanying Abeka reading video.
