Xavier has such improved confidence! He really enjoys the books I read to him. My goal is to make him love books so much that he will want to read for himself. I think it is good for him to see that his brother comes here, too, so that he realizes everyone can come here for whatever they need.

Xavier had to have time to get off his iPad before doing his work. He logged into his school site to find his homework and only had to practice spelling. He listened very well to the end of the book and was able to make predictions about the end.
Dillon read two paired informational passages about starfish today. He used these passages to answer questions that required he cite evidence from the text. This close reading exercise reinforced the third grade standard 3RI1.1 which requires students to refer explicitly to text as the a basis for their answers. Dillon also practiced fluency with an article about goldfish. He read at an appropriate rate with fluency and expression. Dillon has been working very hard in our sessions and is doing a fantastic job.
