Ethan continued to practice adding items and creating change when purchasing them. He played a money game online and wrote out each problem on his paper. He added all the items and then subtracted by the amount paid on the game. He practiced regrouping correctly and subtracting with accuracy.
We learned about Animal Behaviorists. They study how animals act. Then we learned that animals are born with behaviors called instincts. Some instincts are hibernation, migration, and communication. Next we labeled ways that animals communicate and then we practiced communicating objects in the room without speaking.

Today Ethan practiced spelling unusual plural nouns such as: wife to wives and ox to oxen. When he was finished, he read a story on Raz Kids entitled "Morty the Meany" and answered the comprehension questions.
We reviewed previous Economic concepts. Ethan was asked to provide examples related to why people invest; short-term and long-term reasons. He demonstrated that he understood compound interest as it relates to a savings account accruing interest over time based on the rule. Also, Ethan viewed short tutorial videos related to gaining more awareness of how he can utilize the stock market web site to benefit his ability to find things, as well as, make informed decisions.

Review and become more famililiar with the stock market web site and be prepared to make two stock purchases during the next session

We reviewed previous economic concepts. Ethan had a solid understanding of compound interest related to the Rule of 72, but struggled a little distinguishing low risk verses high risk investments. He became more familiar with the stock market and the online contest via tutorial videos and some feedback/guidance I provided.

Today Ethan played several games to review his parts of speech. He also took a spelling pretest and worked on his creative writing project. When he was finished, he read silently from his chapter book.

Today Ethan began our session with a Reading Eggs spelling lesson on air/eer patterns. When he was finished, he completed a series of vocabulary lessons on antonyms and word meaning comparisons. He finished up our session playing a grammar game.
Today we reviewed the verb concept, and the linking verb to be. Also, we reviewed the same concept in Spanish and conjugated the verb to be form SER in agreement with all subject pronouns. We did a craft and also Ethan wrote each conjugation down. We discussed how that verb helps us describe people and introduce ourselves.
Ethan went on the Publix order online website. Ethan picked multiple items to order online and multiplied the cost by a specific number of people ordering. Ethan practiced ordering deli meat and multiplying the cost per pound by the amount of pounds ordered. Ethan found the difference in the totals between the Boar's Head brand and the Publix brand cheeses.
