Ethan was stating that he could not hear me on Skype. He was not following the directions on how to fix it. When we called his mom, it began to work again. Ethan did not participate in the fraction lesson I tried today. I was unable to get him to write anything on paper or do any of the math work. At that point, I put Ethan on review math games. He was not putting a lot of effort into those games either. I am concerned how to continue completing 4th grade math with Ethan when he is refusing to write any work down on his own.
Today we went over the parts of the body and did an exercise together. Also we went over the conjugation of the verb SER and we played a game where each correct answer gave Ethan points and each incorrect one deducted two points. He did pretty well. In addition, we researched about the Puerto Rican Day parade which celebrates the Puerto Rican heritage every summer in NYC.
Ethan completed watching tutorial videos related to trading stocks, researching investments, and managing a portfolio. Then, we read an article aloud together about the stock market crash of 1929, to gain a historical perspective about why and how it happened. Ethan responded to three post-reading multiple choice questions following the reading. Last, Ethan made his first two stock purchases today.

I got Kelli's email related to Ethan. I will explore other interests with him that are related to Economics. I can also tweak the game by creating pairs, so they can collaborate in the process. I found econedlink.org that may help with grade level appropriate lesson plans. If you have any ideas, or prefer one approach to another, please let me know.
