Mercer did research on the capybara. We started by accessing prior information - specifically, what Mercer already knew about the animal. Mercer knew that it is the largest rodent in South America. We learned that they are semi-aquatic and that they have webbed toes which make them excellent swimmers. Mercer and I researched more facts about the capybaras and listened to the sound they make, which sounds a lot like a dog's bark. He discussed his 2 dogs, a male and female English Cocker Spaniel, and we researched some interesting facts about them which Mercer either verified or disputed. However, he did note that there are differences among individual dogs' temperaments, which might explain the variations in the personality traits and dispositions.

Vlad conducted research on the immediate and long term health effects from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. He used 2 resources to add text to his paper.

Today Netra and I created an outline of her persuasive essay. We poured over her chosen research and pulled out relevant facts and information, and we discussed and noted arguments and counterarguments to explore in her paper. We also discussed the connotative and denotative meanings of two concepts she is exploring in her paper: utilitarianism and libertarianism as they relate to healthcare administration.

Brandon completed his discussion forum posts, then we brainstormed and drafted a speech to accompany the recommendation report presentation.

Brandon finalized the recommendation report with a quick revision. Next, he completed a peer review assignment.

Today, Brandon wrote the Abstract, Introduction, Discussion and Findings portion of his recommendation report. Brandon and I analyzed the data from a 2016 survey to use in his report. Then, Brandon created a new graph from the pertinent data and wrote a summary of his findings.

Brandon and I spent our session assessing past research sources for validity and applicability to Brandon's recommendation report. We continued to do research to find data that would be best applied to his report, and summarized and annotated the research that was applicable.

Today Brandon and I reviewed the recommended revisions by the Owl Writing Lab for his case study analysis. Brandon then completed his revision and submitted the final draft. Next, we began researching and outlining his annotated bibliography for the next assignment.

Brandon and I revised his Case Study analyzed. Then Brandon posted to the discussion forum about how he overcomes writer's block. Next, Brandon and I researched possible sources for his upcoming recommendation report on health programs at universities.
