Ayden practiced his 4X tables and watched a couple of videos which skip count to catchy tunes in order to help memorize them. He did a practice drill and then he reviewed for his test on Topic 5 for tomorrow. Ayden continued in his FF program. Good job today, Ayden!

In the absence of Shehan, Ayden demonstrated all of the different karate moves that he knows and how he would use them. Following his "show what you know," we did some stretching and played some physical education games.

Identify different types of air masses and air fronts. Predict the weather by interpreting weather maps. Discuss: what happens when air masses meet? Vocabulary : front, air masses, worm front, cold front, stationary front.

Today Ayden practiced his 4X table flashcards. He should continue to practice these at home, as well. In math lesson 5-8, he practiced planning out a problem and making a plan. Ayden is able to bracket important information in a word problem and then underline what he is trying to find out. These strategies help him to understand what operation he is going to use in order to solve math problems. This is more tricky when all of the problems are mixed (not using the same operation). Ayden continued his FF program.

In social studies today, Ayden worked on his Florida research project. He began his session by deciding to research the Florida state flag. We went to the computer lab and looked up images of the flag. Ayden printed his two favorite images of the flag and then began to research what each symbol on the flag stands for and why it is included on the flag. We concluded the session by listening to the Florida state song.

Today Ayden went over his homework. Many of his answers were incorrect. This new skill of multiplying 2-digit numbers can be difficult at first, but after practice began to remember to add the number on top which he had regrouped. In today's lesson, 5-7, it provided Ayden an with another opportunity to practice because it involved the same concept, except he was multiplying with 3 digit numbers. Ayden beat his high score in Fish Frenzy, in his FF program. His weekly report for Fast ForWord will be emailed on Saturday. It is always nice to see Ayden proud of himself when he breaks a high score. Great job, Ayden!
