Ayden was exposed to the Scientific Method today. We discussed various scientists in order to relate to his schema. We concurred that scientists, like Newton, think of questions and then take the necessary steps (Scientific Method) to explore findings. Ayden asked a lot of regarding scientists from our past, and what they were famous for discovering. He demonstrates interest about the topic. We briefly went through the steps of the Scientific Method, which he will be using. Ayden was successful at stating and identifying his question. He decided to ask, "Does the style of the paper airplane effect how far it goes?" . His next step is to conduct the research to find out what is already known about paper airplanes. Ayden used the Internet to learn how to create his own planes. So far he has completed one and he began a second. He did a great job following these directions. Next time he will continue to research paper planes in order to build his background knowledge and be able to construct at least three different types for him to test a hypothesis. He will formulate his hypothesis next class. We're both looking forward to this activity!
