Lesson Comments
Ayden is playing his first three chords very well. The F chord is a challenge for him. It is a very difficult chord to learn initially because it takes lots of hand strength and individual finger control.

Lesson Outline
Today Ayden completed another drill with his 3X tables. His time improved again. He also completed a daily review, and he reviewed all of his new vocabulary words. Today we added a new vocabulary word-multiples. He practiced listing multiples of different numbers such as 5, 3, 9 and 2. We looked for patterns. For example all multiples of 2 end in even numbers, and all multiiples of 5 end in 0 or 5. Ayden continued with his Fast ForWord program.

Lesson 2
Lesson Outline
Practice lesson 1 - start with home keys and add g/h, e/I, and u/r. Go through practice exercise - reminding Ayden to always keep fingers on home keys, use the left pointer finger, left hand to hit the g and r keys - use the right pointer finger to hit the h and u keys. The left middle finger goes up to the e key, and the right middle finger goes up to the I key. Discourage using other fingers to "reach across" and strike these keys. Begin lesson 2 - stage 4. Again using the pointer fingers - right hits the t key and left hits the y key. Complete practice exercises. I love Ayden's attitude. He was so excited to get started and didn't want to stop at the end of the session. He's doing a great job!

Lesson Outline
Ayden did a great job today in math. He began Topic 3-Multiplication Meanings and Facts. We discussed vocabulary words such as array, product, factors, multiples, and breaking apart. Ayden is able to recognize multiplication as repeated addition of equal groups, used in arrays and comparisons. Ayden drew several examples on the dry erase board demonstrating these ideas. He practiced breaking apart arrays, also. Ayden should continue to pracitce his 3X table facts. Fast ForWord is helping to improve Ayden's language comprehension. He demonstrated his knowledge today by matching words to their correct synonym (ex: seize and take). Ayden is simultaneously learning new vocabulary through repetition, in this program. Brain games such as Twisted Pictures help improve his reading comprehension and logical reasoning. He is required to read four sentences and then match the correct sentence to the correct picture. The sentences become increasingly difficult as he chooses the correct answers. Each day, it is my pleasure to watch Ayden succeed and become more confident.
