He practiced finding the sum of two addends, learned to change the order, and recognized that the sum will remain the same. He practiced this skill on both horizontal and vertical addition sentences. Patrick demonstrated routine procedures in V/V today. He had a little difficulty providing me with the gestalt of the picture but after that he was quite successful in providing a full description of a picture of a young girl sitting in a park with an umbrella. He referred, confidently, to the structure words in order to complete his description. He is using more adjectives and including the finest details. Great day!!!

Patrick did an awesome job in keyboarding today. He completed the next level (Level 2, Stage 6). Today he learned and practiced drills using the new letters Q and P. When asked if he would like a keyboard available on the screen to refer to, Patrick still says,"no, I do not need it". I am so proud of his efforts and determination to improve. In Fast ForWord he completed games Sky Gym and Space Commander. In Sky Gym, Patrick listens to varied sounds and must distinguish the differences. In Space Commander he follows the directions, as he must pay close attention. Patrick requested switching roles in V/V today and I agreed. He did a wonderful job playing my role and asked great questions to obtain more information regarding a picture of a little girl eating a lollypop. Once he viewed the picture, he followed through by elaborating on the image I had given him. He added what I could have mentioned in order to create a better image and stated what helped him to have a similar image. Great work!

Patrick completed three different brain games: Whalien Match, Robo Dog and Moon Ranch in his Fast ForWord program. He seems to be listening more closely and is more focused. In his V/V program he gave a nice description using his words and gestures, to describe a picture of a seal balancing a ball on his nose. He was able to supply the gestalt easily. We are working on him using complete sentences to describe details. At times he his likely to use short fragmented sentences. He is demonstrating improvement on his terminology used to describe the perspective of the picture. Great job Patrick.
