Lesson Topic
Picture to Picture
Lesson Outline
Today Patrick verbalized the details of a picture of a Lion. He now knows to convey the gestalt of the picture right away. He communicates in one sentence "what" the picture is about. Then he proceeds to give various details using the structure words, such as where, background, when, perspective, size, color, number, etc. Then after he feels certain he has described the picture the best he can, he actually used the cards we have to add any additional information that would create an even better picture for me. Then I compare and contrast mine with the actual picture as he makes more changes. He did nicely, and we will continue this phase until he does not require much prompting and these structure words become second nature. Great work, Patrick!

Fast ForWord/Typing/Lindamood Bell
Lesson Outline
Today Patrick did a nice job during his keyboarding class. Today he worked on adding "e" and "i" to the homerow keys he has learned. He succeeds at typing various nonsense and real word drills during his practice. He is at Level 1, finishing stage 1, and is almost ready to progress to the next level. Patrick continued his Fast ForWord program which he seems to enjoy. He has demonstrated improvement in being able to hear various sounds in some of the word games. In the beginning he could not tell the difference between the different pitches. These skills help to improve attention. It is very rewarding for both of us to see. In V/V he did a picture to picture drill. He is getting more familiar with using the structure words independently. He is getting used to the routine that we have been adhering to, and I am seeing positive changes. Way to go Patrick!
