Will had a little trouble with the reading today, especially the exercise where he's given two sentences and needs to condense the information into 1 sentence. This is something I noticed in english today and we will work on it.
Will did a good job with fast forword today. He was focused and not easily distracted. He did better with the video story than he has the last couple of times, and continues to excel at the repeating of sound exercise.
Will did a solid job in fast forword today, but had a lot of trouble when asked to find a word based on its part of speech, especially adjectives and adverbs. We haven't gotten to that yet in class, but will address it next week.
We started the next level of fastforword today and I think the change in program was a little difficult for Will. He's gotten used to doing the same thing every day (we had to finish the literacy advanced) and had trouble at first with the change in routine. It's more about reading comprehension than words, and I noticed he had trouble picking out the details of the passages. From now on, we're going to alternate between the reading and the word programs.
The internet was down today, so we started reading a new story about the Iditarod instead. Will did a good job in the reading, but needs to focus on slowing down and sounding out the words he's not familiar with. When he sees a word he doesn't know he in essence "fills in the blank" with a word he does know. We'll work on it.
