Today Anna and Quinn worked together to finish their city. They both completed two additional buildings by decoupaging colored tissue paper on the exterior and also incorporated their rubbings for added visual texture. After the buildings were completed they set up the streets and the pumpkin patch and placed all of the buildings in the city.

Today was a shorter science class because Anna and Quinn had to leave for a dentist appointment. Today's lesson was on buoyancy . Anna and Quinn watched a Brainpop video on sinking and floating. They then took the quiz on the video and did very well. Today Anna and Quinn had to make a hypothesis whether different objects would sink or float and then test to see if they were correct. Anna and Quinn then used a piece of foil to make a boat. They added paper clips to see how many it could hold before it sank. We talked about how a cruise ship is big and can still float and how the shape and design makes that possible. Anna and Quinn had a lot of fun with this activity!
Today Anna and Quinn began class by taking their 2 mad math minute. Anna was able to answer 30 questions correctly in 2 minute and Quinn was able to answer 26. We then took a look back at their first mad minute. Anna was able to answer 16 problems correctly in 5 minutes and Quinn was able to answer 12. They both saw how far they had come. Then they retook their 40 question addition test on multiplication.com. They had an unlimited amount of time to answer the 40 questions. The first time Anna took this quiz, she was able to answer 38 correctly in 11 minutes. Today she answer 38 of the questions correctly in 4 minutes and 14 seconds! This was a huge increase in her speed. The first time Quinn took this quiz it took him 20 minutes and he answered 38 questions correctly. Today he answered 35 questions correctly in only 5 minutes! Anna and Quinn have both drastically increased their speed at answering addition facts! We then practiced finding the perimeter of an object. Anna and Quinn did very well with this activity! Anna and Quinn finished class on Sumdog!
Today it was Anna's idea to play "Halloween yoga freeze." We took turns playing the skeleton music toy and when we stopped the music, we had to call out a yoga pose that all of us had to do. It was a fun way to review our yoga poses.
Today Anna and Quinn worked on the buildings for their city. At this point the buildings already had one coat of paint on them. We started by talking about how additional layers of different mediums could be added. For one of the layers, colored tissue paper pieces were decoupaged onto the buildings using modpodge. On top of the tissue paper, cut out paper rectangles were added for windows. Another layer added represents the roof made out of colored corrugated paper.
