We discussed the 3 main natural resources and what we use them for in our everyday life. We discussed, then watched a video on reusing, recycling, and reducing. We also watched a video that shows the recycling process in a recycling plant.
Quinn- Wilson- Reading Welded exception words. Quinn needs to memorize the keywords for the welded exception sounds. We played a matching game to help.
Took spelling test. TTRS typing.
Anna- Took spelling test. TTRS typing skills. Anna worked on Riverdeep reading a passage about life in space. She wrote about what daily living activities the astronauts have to do differently at the space station. She has become much more confident with coming up with ideas for writing.
Chess. Anna and Quinn had a good day today. They got focused and set up quickly, and for about 15 minutes, played a solid game. I'm very pleased with Quinn's progress, in that he's doing a great job of protecting pieces and "setting traps" as he likes to say.

Anna, on the other hand, has regressed a little bit. Again, she pretends to get emotional until she forgets she's pretending and then actually gets upset. I think the no-stress version was much easier for her, and I'm going to go back to that next week to see if there is a difference. We still didn't finish the game as their focus definitely deteriorated by the end of the class.
