Anna did a beautiful job on her spelling test. She spelled all of the r controlled vowel words correctly. Her only errors were in her sight words; about and through. On Wilson, she did a great job of of combining syllables to make real words. She re-wrote the words without looking at the spelling. She read independently on Raz Kids and took comprehension quizzes. Quinn did an awesome job on his spelling test, too! He spelled all words correctly except -munk. He spelled his sight word -want correctly in isolation but incorrectly in his dictation sentence. He worked on identifying verbs and generating his own. He wrote a sentence using a verb, and identified when to use present and past tense verbs. The students joined together for a Dr. Seuss celebration and reading by Mr. Kevin.
Hop into Spring yoga. We filled out our Hop into Spring handout with yoga poses associated with spring: rabbit, blooming lotus, buzzing bee, butterfly, frog, grasshopper, etc. We then practiced the poses and created some new spring poses. Quinn was not feeling well due to a fall yesterday and he elected to read through a yoga book during most of class, while Anna and I practiced the poses.

Anna and Quinn brought took their yoga folders with them to take home and show their parents.
