We did research for his discussion topic including international trade theory, the benefits of international trade, the volume of international trade, the patterns of international trade, the interdependence of international trade, mercantilism, comparative advantage, the factor portions theory, international product life cycle, the new trade theory, and national competitive advantage.
We are working through his weekly assignment for Calculus (relative extremum, concavity, curve sketching, etc.) and we completed his discussion post for Statistics.
We started with some research of his term paper where he has to choose a company that is expanding into another country and write about the challenges and opportunities, entry modes, local reactions, strategies, customs, markets, R&D, and issues with expatriates. We looked at the possibility of doing the paper on Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Panera Bread or Chipotle. We also looked at the discussion videos again and wrote up the discussion about the similarities and differences of doing business in China and India.
We completed his International Business Quiz on the Chapters 1-4 including Economic Devlopment, Economic Transition, Political Risk, Managing Political Risk, and Emerging Markets, cultural relativism, the Foreigh Corrupt Practices Act, and political risk insurance.
We worked on his discussion where he needed to read Ch. 3 Political Economy and Ethics and Ch. 4 Economic Development of Nations and watch some videos on practical aspects of doing business in China and India. We discussed what we read and watched.
