Brandon started the day with reading and highlighting the chapter. We got through it in the first session and focused on the discussion posts in the second. One of the prompts was about hypovolemic shock, which was not really covered in the chapter. So, we spent a good portion of the class researching the topic, as Brandon is obsessed with writing the best/most accurate post in the class. (Not a bad goal, if you ask me.)
We started the next chapter this week, and spent today listening to the lectures online. I'd like to see Brandon taking notes on these, but that has been an uphill battle. But we got through it and will start working on discussion posts tomorrow.
Brandon took his weekly quiz and I was both shocked and pleased that Brandon announced he actually wanted to review and study before taking the quiz. He took about a half hour to go through the chapter and ended up getting a perfect score on the quiz. (funny how that works.) He then worked on his discussion posts for english and cranked out a good one.
Brandon finished up his discussion posts for Biology after doing a good bit of research for the last guided discussion. We went over the key terms for the week and wrote out the definitions.
We spent the day going through the chapter and researching information for the discussion posts. Brandon finished two out of three original posts, and should be in good shape to finish up with them tomorrow.
We started working on the next chapter of biology, and spent today going over the lecture materials for the week. It's a pretty tricky and detailed chapter and Brandon has committed to putting more of an effort into covering the material.
Brandon finished his discussion board posts for the week, and he was able to come up with some really insightful reponses to his peers' take on the course readings. Brandon was willing to work, and he finished the discussions with no problem.
Brandon and I spent most of our class listening to the lecture audio file and reading the several articles that the professor assigned for the week. Most of these readings took some time, but Brandon and I were able to finish most of them by the time our session ended. Brandon was ready to work, and we got a lot of reading done.
Brandon started revising his research proposal based on the feedback that his professor provided. This meant that we had to substantiate some of the claims made in the introduction with research, and this took a bit of time to gather. Paper is coming along nicely.
Brandon and I worked through the reading listening, and viewing section of his English course. Also, we began brainstorming for his discussion board posts in an effort to demonstrate active reading. In the end, we were able to create a nice outline for his discussions. Good session.
