Lesson Outline
Brandon worked on his augmenting his College English paper, deciding on an additional argument point to use in his argument about why the minimum wage should not be raised. Brandon's critical thinking skills have increased tenfold, and after writing he is able to read over his work and, after answering follow-up questions, conclude where he needs to map-out his reasoning.

Lesson Outline
Brandon has two papers due this week, so we spent some more time together in order to finish all of the work. For his College English draft, Brandon continued researching and writing on the effects of a minimum wage increase. Brandon was able to add an extra page to his draft. Afterwards, we continued working on his Business Ethics paper. Making Brandon aware of the time constraints of this week, I impressed upon him the importance of doing some at-home work (i.e. discussion posts). Brandon iterated that he understood our dilemma, and promised to finish two of his posts at home.

Business Ethics, Chapter 7
Lesson Outline
Brandon and I spent a lot of time reading the introduction and case studies to chapter 7 in his Business Ethics text. Afterwards, we created an outline for his Business Ethics paper, arguing that the three factors that all business need to consider are transparency, audience, and results. Brandon wrote the introduction of this essay with little delay, and it was a very productive day for him.

Discussion posts

We were able to jam out the rest of the discussion posts for the week. Brandon has really improved at crafting them, and he should be in good shape for the weekend.

discussion posts

Brandon did some solid work today. We almost completed all of his discussion posts for business ethics, but his classmates had not posted anything for response. We then watched the video lecture for the week and an interesting conversation about the linear perception of education and development. He has a lot to do this week, but should be finished with business ethics tomorrow.

discussion post

In our first session, we addressed the 2nd discussion post. I went through the relevant article with Brandon, and we had a good discussion about the content and issues raised. I thought he should have been able to write the post based on our discussion, but he did some extra research on the web, and then spent the last half hour on the post. He finally got the results from his previous posts and paper...his score is currently a 98. In the 2nd session, I tried to get him to continue working on his paper for business ethics, and had a couple of suggestions about how he could develop his idea more fully.

But for some reason, Brandon doesn't want to work on a paper with me that he starts the Jo. After failing miserably to get him to continue writing, he spent the last 20 minutes "reading" the material from his english for this week.

discussion post

We spent today researching and writing the first discussion post for the day. Once I laid out my suggestions on how to write it, Brandon whipped it out in less than a half hour. He's doing very well in the class.

but I'm still concerned he's getting away with minimal effort. Eventually, he's going to have to put more into his classes.

Lesson Outline
Brandon finally received feedback on his second draft of his college essay. We spent the class addressing the feedback points from his draft. In particular, Brandon needed to write a paragraph on the third point in his essay, ethos. This was not so easy considering the nature of Barry's essay, but Brandon was able to articulate that given Barry's background, no pretense at objectivity on the issue of capital punishment could be achieved.

Brandon's professor finally posted content for Week 3, and Brandon and I were able to read and view the Reading, Listening, and Viewing section of the course, as well as read the Lecture Materials. Brandon posted two responses to the discussion prompt. In Business Ethics, we were also able to respond to one of the posts. Great day for Brandon.

Brandon finished up his assigned posts for the week, but still has one reaction post to complete before Sunday. Unfortunately, his classmates rarely get theirs in before the Friday deadline. He also submitted his english paper and seems to be in great shape.
