Brandon and I brainstormed topics for his College Composition Essay, after reading the week's modules and lessons. Brandon settled on the topic: "College is a Waste of Time and Money," and we conducted some preliminary research to that end.
Brandon and I continued to read and discuss Overthrow, and the evolution of America to a global power. He should be in good shape to write the paper tomorrow.
Brandon finished up his paper that was due today and did a very good job. I think it's a solid paper. We then started reading/researching for the paper due later this week. It's a lot of reading.
Brandon is writing some really good stuff for history, but isn't doing nearly enough reading. He can't be so dependent on me to provide him with ideas.
Week #11: Material (completed), Homework (completed 100%), Quiz (Completed 100%)
Topics: Graphing quadratic functions and linear functions, reading graphs, function notation, break-even point
Brandon and I spent the majority of our time reading through several of his history assigned readings and devising a plan for his paper. Once we had a tentative thesis, we focused on providing evidence for our assertions. To do this, Brandon looked at one of the documentaries from the class, and we also read through one of his articles.
Brandon and I completed his pre-writing assignment today. We spent some time thinking about thesis statements, rebuttals, and opposition points to address for this assignment. Afterwards, we worked on his history paper and discussions.
