We worked on his assignment to do a PESTEL (Political, Economic, Sociocultural, Technological, Environmental, and Legal/Regulatory) analysis on several companies from different market sectors.
We went over the results of the team exercise from last week. The team derived much different results than Brandon working alone. We looked at the Glo-Bus case study simulation web site. The discussion this week involves PESTEL analysis (Political, Economic, Sociocultural, Techological, Environmental, and Legal/Regulatory and the Five Forces Model of Competition.
We finished the group exercise. He had to communicate with his classmates about finishing the assignment this evening. We generally discussed business strategies.
We worked on the team activity: Mission Statement Revision. Brandon rewrote the Delta Airlines mission statement to improve its message of core purpose. He rewrote the Harley-Davidson mission statement to improve its message of values and philosophy. He critiqued the mission statement of Minolta. We did his weekly quiz on strategic vision, strategic thinking, mission statements, strategic plans, etc.
We worked on his discussion research. He has to look at the mission statements of Harley-Davidson, Minolta (which turns out to have been merged with Konica 14 years ago), and Delta Airlines and judge them based on customer orientation, values, and philosophy. Then, he has to rewrite and improve two of them. This is a group assignment with two of his other classmates.
We continued working on his discussion about the Robin Hood case study. We combined our information in an outline and he will write the 1,000 page discussion this evening before the deadline.
