Abbey would have read excerpts of writings by famous philosophers and poets. Philosophers and poets can have an interesting perspective on culture. We would have focused on art in culture. I had planned to discuss several of the major museums in the United States.
Abbey selected the country of Austria and we explored the food, culture, and land systems that were native to that country.
Abbey wrote a creative story that included her research on cultural aspects of Austria. Together we reviewed and discussed her short story. I commented on her work asking questions about how the different parts of her story pieced together.
Assignment
Research aspects of Human Geography in Austria and write a short story including those aspects.

Abbey and I went through an overview of Human Geography. We discussed the particular aspects of Human Geography that allow us to look more closely at the world in which we live. We discussed in general how these aspects apply to some of the places Abbey has visited throughout the world.
