Today I began by administering the Chapter 16 quiz to Jackson. Then we commenced consideration of Chapter 17, focusing on state governments. The main issues addressed were state governmental responsibilities for public education and public health, safety, and morals--a fertile ground for discussion. Jackson said he would turn in his research paper on Monday.
Today we completed our consideration of Chapter 16, focusing on the cases of Korematsu v. US, Brown v. Board of Education, and Miranda v. Arizona. Jackson actively participated in discussion. We also conferred about his research paper, which he said he would submit next Monday, 4/14.
