Lesson Outline
1) Oral Quiz: What happens in Frankenstein chs. 17-21.
2) Have Jessica read the Feminist Criticism section of our text, and the essay applying feminist criticism to Frankenstein.
3) Discuss both essays assertions, explaining what feminist criticism is, and whether or not the role gender plays in Frankenstein is explicit.
1) Oral Quiz: Jessica recaps the main events of the homework reading.
2)Quotation Journals: Jessica presents her quotation findings, discussing which quotations she found most insightful and taking a stance on what the quote projects onto the narrative.
3)Discussion Questions for chs. 10-16 of Frankenstein.
4)Jessica beings reading chs. 17-21 of Frankenstein
Jess will be prepared for the chapter 8 test (this review took longer than usual because Jess had not actually been in class for about 10 days - including weekends).

1)Jessica recaps the events of Chs. 5-9 in Frankenstein as her oral quiz. 2)Jessica identifies key themes in the narrative: nature vs. nurture, creationism, good vs. evil, family, morality, etc., and points out where each theme occurs in the chapters that we have read so far. 3)Jessica compares and contrasts the relationship of Frankenstein and the creature to that of God and Adam and Eve in Milton's Paradise Lost.
4)Jessica is given time in class to read through pgs. 90-128 of Frankenstein, given that we have to catch up on our reading from last week's absences.
