Zero
Lesson Outline
We explored zero's place in the grand scheme of things via Charles Seife's book "Zero - The Biography of a Dangerous Idea." We explored an incident 1997 when the U.S.S. Yorktown, a billion-dollar guided missile cruiser was brought to a halt off the coast of Virginia--by a zero. We saw how zero--and its partner, infinity--were at odds with Aristotelian philosophy and hence were rejected for centuries.
