Emma chose our Ted Talk this Friday, and we watched a film about a man who experienced bullying throughout his childhood and how he chose to define himself not by negative experiences, but by the resulting "enlightenment" he experienced as a result of negative circumstances. Emma had some great insight on the nature of bullying, especially among females, and she discussed the rhetorical devices present throughout the talk.
Emma was given an essay quiz on the content of The Crucible. She was asked to gauge the importance of truth vs. reality; is truth something real and tangible? What happens when truth is based on religious beliefs and those religious beliefs are flawed?
