We went through different topics in the standard normal distribution, the normal distribution, and the central limit theorem (finding area/probability, finding z scores knowing area, applications, etc).
She is starting a new chapter on Normal Distribution, so we worked on finding the area under the curve on a Standard Normal Distribution curve, along with a Normal Distribution curve, and how area under this curve relates to probability and percentage. We used the tables today since she did not have her calculator, tomorrow we will go through finding the area/probability/percentage with the graphing calculator.
We went through some of the main ideas for her exam tomorrow, there was so much information, we were unable to go into depth on all of the topics, but we touched base. I guided her into what she needs to do when she gets home to help prep for the exam.
We started to look at a review for her exam this Friday. It seems the topics are probability distributions (mean, standard deviation, variance, and expected value), and discrete probability distributions.
We went over a review packet for her final tomorrow. She needs to go over the quadratic formula (and the problem we used it for), some rel and absolute extrema problems, and a little bit of the product and quotient rule.
We were reviewing for her exam tomorrow by going through different examples similar to the ones on her practice test. She seems ready now, just has to be careful not to miss some of the variables (or rates) when it comes to implicit differentiation or related rates.
We went through problems involving related rates, tangent lines and position/velocity/acceleration. All involving implicit differentiation. She needs to practice problems and determine what she is taking the derivative with respect to.
We almost completed the rest of her review sheet for her test tomorrow (She only had 2 left to complete and they were similar concepts to what we did). She needs a little more practice on what we covered tonight to let it sink in further (and a couple of things to memorize).
