Marine Biology:
Marine mega-vertebrates -
Gio and I reviewed his lessons on marine charismatic mega-vertebrates: penguins, turtles, dolphins, whales, manatees, seals and sea lions. He labeled diagrams of a dolphin head and the body of a whale. We worked through four study guides in preparation for an upcoming test.
We covered Ch. 8-1 Inverse Variation, 8-2 The Reciprocal Function Family, 8-3 Rational Functions and Their Graphs, 8-4 Rational Expressions, 8-5 Adding and Subtracting Rational Expressions, and 8-6 Solving Rational Equations for his test review.

Marine Biology:
Marine mammals -
Gio and I discussed the characteristics of marine mammals. We examined some samples of baleen and contrasted the differences between toothed and baleen whales. We talked about pinnipeds and the unique characteristic of delayed implantation. We also reviewed the anatomy of a dolphin head and how different parts are used during echolocation. Gio answered questions to ready him for a test on Tuesday.
We continued working in Ch. 7 and did problems from Ch. 7-3 Logarithmic Functions as Inverses, 7-4 Properties of Logarithms, and 7-5 Exponential and Logargithmic Equations.
We reviewed the concepts from all six sections and did problems from 7-1 Exploring Exponential Models, 7-2 Properties of Exponential Functions, and 7-3 Logarithmic Functions and Inverses.

Marine Biology:
Marine Reptiles and Birds -
Gio and I worked at completing the section of his study guide on marine reptiles and birds. He reviewed his vocabulary for unit # 7. We discussed the difference between adaptation and mutation and the roles they play in diverse population over time. We examined marine iguanas, crocodiles, and sea turtles. We also examined the different kinds of beaks and feet birds exhibit, and how they related to feeding behavior. Gio is prepared for his quiz on Wednesday.
We worked on his Ch. 7.5 homework involving solving logarithmic and exponential equations. Gio needs to memorize the his multiplication tables and rules.
