Unit 8 The Human Body Chapter 34 Endocrine and Reproductive Systems
Lesson Outline
34.1 The Endocrine System – We discovered how excessive exercise and dieting can affect the endocrine system and disrupt homeostasis. We explored the meaning of the phrase fight or flight.
Assignment: Work on Packet A Lesson 34.1.
Unit 8 The Human Body Chapter 34 Endocrine and Reproductive Systems
Lesson Outline
34.1 The Endocrine System – We learned how the body uses chemical signals to maintain homeostasis. We read to trace and explain the complex hormonal and reproductive processes.
Assignment: Explore resources to learn about and report on the scientific investigations that led to the discovery of insulin and its use in treating diabetes.

I subbed for Teresa this morning, Friday, 3-14-25 - from 11:21 - 12:06 (I worked on Biology Honors instead of Algebra I since she was not here for the Biology class this morning and I more comfortable teaching Biology than Algebra 1).
Kaitlyn signed in to Teams and we discussed the section about the heart. She and I read the section. Then, she completed the quiz by labeling the different sections of the heart. I had her read the different sections and the definition of each from the book. Lastly, I gave her a reading and quiz homework assignment as well as a que to read about Franklin to celebrate Women's History Month.
Unit 8 The Human Body Chapter 32 Skeletal, Muscular, and Integumentary Systems Honors Biology
Lesson Outline
32.3 The Integumentary System – We learned that the dermis is the thick inner layer of skin that contain structures that interact with other body systems to maintain homeostasis by regulating by temperature. Sebaceous glands in the dermis secrete sebum which is an oily acidic substance. Sebum keeps the epidermis flexible and waterproof and kills bacteria. We learned about internal and external factors that affect the health of the skin. We discovered how acne, hives, and skin cancer affect the skin.
