Max and Katie's session slit up on 4/21/21 for the session on 4/5/21
Continuing our preparation for completing Max's London school assignment on the play,Macbeth, we first studied the plot developments in Act III wherein Macbeth orders the murder of Banquo and Banquo's sons. Further, we added to Max's notes additional characters. As Banquo's ghost appears later in Act III, we again discussed Shakespeare's use of the supernatural and added Banquo's ghost to Max's outline tracking supernatural events in the play. I further directed attention to the famous lines in the play which we read and practiced interpreting paying attention to Shakespeare's metaphors ,especially those that reference "water". We spent the final 10 minutes of the session watching a segment of a performance of Act III dramatizing what we had just read and discussed. For HW read abridged Modern English translation of Act IV.
Max and I discussed his personal learning techniques and type.
We discussed some of the strategies that we will use to play to his strengths and to also stretch him as a scholar to build on any difficulties that may be present.
During this time, I verified Matthew's appointment, created a lesson plan for my other students and for Max. I also spent some time entering session notes.
Today we looked at several older groups and talked about the recording process and materials needed. We continued working on the chords for a popular song on the guitar.
