Paige hasn't had this topic before, so this gives me an opportunity to watch how she reacts to new topics and to see how quickly she can learn the new topic.
Paige researched more options for successful paper chromatography demonstrations. We went to the lab and tried dry erase markers after yesterday's failure using pen and sharpies. We also tried different solvents including ammonia, isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and water. We haven't found any good combinations yet.

Paige reviewed paper chromotography today. She researched how chromotography works and brainstormed why the paper chromotography experiment she did was not successful.

Subbed for the first 20 minutes of class for Larry.
Today we reviewed the future tense and its usage and endings according to each verb. We learned a dialogue on fashion and Paige practiced pronunciation and had to memorize it. She started to write an assignment discussing fashion today and comparing it to some other periods of time.
Paige and I went to the science lab and set up several paper chromatography demonstrations. We wanted to make sure that one of the demonstrations worked. Then I went over several mixture separation methods.

Paige has done a lot of work on her own. I finally recognized the course that she is taking is ChemCom (Chemistry In The Community). That helps me to figure out what is expected of her.
Paige and I went over some additional applications of quadratic equations and we substituted our answers into the original equations to test which of two answers worked.
