In today's class, we would have started talking about metallic bonding and the electron-sea model. We would have discussed what a metallic bond is, what its significance is, and what role it plays in everyday chemistry. We would have also discussed what the sea of electrons model is and what role it plays in bonding.

Andrew was absent from my class today due to being sick. We will continue our lesson when he returns.
In today's class, we learned about hybridized orbitals. Andrew watched a video on how we hybridize orbitals and what it means exactly to be hybridized. We went over several examples and Andrew seemed to do well with the new information.
Andrew completed a quiz on chemical reactions. He was instructed to balance equations and indicate which type of chemical reaction is shown: synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement, or combustion.
In today's class, we did an experiment where we made our our home made ice cream. Andrew learned the chemistry behind what it takes to freeze and make ice cream, and we had a blast doing so.

Super fun class with Andrew. I wanted to do this experiment with my other kids but they were all online today. We will do them on Monday.
In today’s class, we continued our discussion on balancing chemical equations. We finished up talking about how to balance them and then did several practice problems to drive the concept home. Andrew did very well with the material.
In today’s class, we continued our discussion on balancing chemical equations. We continued to go over the rules and procedures for balancing an equation, as well as doing several examples along the way. Andrew took notes that followed along with the material.
