In today's class, we discussed the diagonal relationship of the periodic table. We also discussed metallic character and trends, as well as boiling point and the trends it has as well. Various examples were given of each to help with comprehension.
Based on the previous lesson, write 3 equilibrium constant expressions, two will be done by the student.
Once written, from a researched answer, explain in which direction the reaction will be favored to go.
Using 3 common reactions, explain how equilibrium occurs in a chemical reaction.
Derive the law of chemical equilibrium and write the general formula.
Explain and demonstrate how to balance the equation prior to writing the expression.
Use the general formula to indicate the formula for the equilibrium constant, and analyze what the numerical answer means.

In today's class, Andrew worked on an activity that covered the topic of atomic radius. Andrew answered several questions based on the material and colored a periodic table in order to show the atomic radius trend. He also finished his activity from Friday covering valence electrons.
Define the term dynamic equilibrium and use non chemical examples to help in the understanding.
Relate and write the chemical equation for the sublimation of carbon dioxide solid into carbon dioxide gas.
Relate and write the equation for the sublimation of solid iodine into iodine vapor.
From a diagram show how the equilibrium is dynamic between the particles. Stress that the equilibrium does not mean equal numbers being converted, only equal amounts at equilabrium

Bobby was 15 minutes late in answering, then lost his internet for a few minutes.
In today's class, Andrew worked on an activity that covered the topics of ionization energy and electronegativity. It had several questions that relate to the topics and a periodic table that Andrew had to color to show the trends both items demonstrate.
In today's class, we continued practicing conversion factors. We will spend some more classes working on this concept since it is the base concept for future topics.
