Nico completed his interactive calendar. He read and discussed all his vocabulary words. He learned about what causes sound, and what are the sources for light energy.
Colson reviewed erosion, deposition, weathering, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. He watched a video on the processes and types of rocks. He completed a compare and contrast chart for sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks.
Aiden reviewed replication, transcription, translation and mutations. He read the text "A Closer Look: Why so blue?" which explained how blue eyes are the result of a genetic mutation. He read about genetic disorders and viewed diagrams of chromosomes with the defective gene. He completed the Investigation "Mutation Classification" where he labeled mutations positive, negative and neutral. He read the text "When Asthma Attacks" which discussed how asthma is genetically and environmentally caused.

Aiden learned about DNA transcription and translation. He watched an animation showing these two processes and we discussed how proteins are made. He learned about DNA mutations: substitution, insertion and deletion.
Colson began learning about the rock cycle: erosion, deposition, weathering, igneous rock, sedimentary rock and metamorphic rock. He completed the lesson questions and analyzed the photos.
