Nico completed his interactive calendar. We modified his solar powered car and when the sun comes out tomorrow, we will test it out. He read and discussed potential (stored) energy, kinetic energy, speed, and how they are related.
Aiden read about how minerals are formed and observed the diagrams: as magma and lava cool, by metamorphism, from solutions. He read about how minerals are classified: silicates and nonsilicates. He classified two minerals.
Aiden took a 5-question lesson review quiz on volcanoes. We discussed the correct answers. We began our Minerals lesson. He completed the brainstorming and vocabulary questions #1-4. He read and we discussed the following terms: mineral, elements, atoms, compound, matter, crystal.
Chris read about convergent boundaries, continent-continent collisions, continent-ocean collisions, ocean-ocean collisions, divergent boundaries, transform boundaries, tectonic plates and plate tectonics. We analyzed the diagrams and he answered the questions.
