We went ahead of her class into the next section dealing with Quadratic Functions in Standard and Vertex Form; finding the axis of symmetry, vertex, mins and max's, etc.
She went through a timed set of practice problems that we went over after. She has not been practicing at home enough and should always be doing timed problem sets everyday (at least 5-10).

She has not been performing well on her practice exams. The time constraint makes her nervous and she makes little errors that she wouldn't normally make. She is distracted a bit also.
I noticed that Jordan's big weakness is the time and nervous feeling during a testing environment. We are practicing timed ACT problems so that she can focus during a timed test even with a nervous feeling. She needs much more practice with this at home as well. I have given her timed practice exams to do at home, but she needs to do more. I've been telling her she should be doing at least 5-10 timed problems a day, grading them, and interpreting her mistakes.

She has not been doing well on her practice exams. She also does not do all of the work that I send home with her. Some of her mistakes are simple, it seems to be based on nervousness, but some of her mistakes are made on topics she should know from school. We haven't had a chance to get too deep into the topics because of lack of time (we were studying for the PERT and CRT instead of ACT earlier) and she doesn't bring back work I send home with her each time and she doesn't listen when I tell her to practice at home.
Jordan did some timed drill problems from a practice exam with mixed concepts. She needs to get used to being timed, and in a testing environment. I sent her home with some notes to look over and memorize (properties and formulas of different geometric figures on the ACT) and another practice exam.
We started to work on the Geometry topics on the ACT math section. We have gone through the concepts with triangles, and practiced some ACT problems using those concepts and tricks.
We went through a few practice problems including: linear systems, manipulation, zeros, x-intercepts and factors, factoring quadratics, etc. These are a review of information we have covered in the past. We will begin Geometry on Thursday.
