We went through some more concepts on problems that she got incorrect on the practice packet that I sent home (radicals, rational equations, etc). I think that if she takes a couple of practice tests online, she will be ready. I sent her home with a packet of practice problems also.
Today, we over the practice problems given to her last week. Then, we continued to practice factoring relating it to other concepts on the Pert exam in which you need to know how to factor. We were able to continue into lines (intercepts, slopes, parallel and perpendicular lines). I think that she is almost ready to take the exam. I suggested that she complete the review packet so that we can tweak whatever weaknesses or confusion that might still be there for the test Thursday.
I printed out a review packet for the math portion of the PERT test. I had her go through it to circle problems that she would not know how to solve (since she was so close to the score she needs, we should focus on weaknesses), and I noticed some weaknesses in percentages, multiplication, division, addition and subtraction by hand (she will not be given a calculator on the majority of the test), and also in factoring.
Introduction to the skills and tricks on the ACT math section. We then started to discuss concepts that will be on the ACT math, while working on practice problems.
