Arianna started off with her bumper car warm-up calling out the moves she wanted to do. She began with her jazz warm-up/isolations and floor stretches. She was a little tired today from being on vacation so we moved a little slowly today.
She played a slow lyrical game called frozen where she created movements then tagged me and froze and we kept switching turns. Arianna can really hear the music and is able to stay on beat etc.
she watched a new ribbon dance where the dancers performed a lot of front and back movement with two ribbons. She got inspired from the video and wanted to use two ribbons while dancing today. She created some new movements with ribbons and ended the class with a group dance party.
Today Arianna warmed up with partner stretches, isolations, and the new Right hand Left hand dance she worked on staying low to ground when doing movements (bending knees). She has amazing rhythm and is able to hear and stay on the beat to all different types of music. She also practiced staying on beat with the instruments.
Today Arianna practiced listening to music/staying on the beat with the instruments. She warmed up with a new hip-hop exercise called this is my right hand. She then practiced her balancing prep for turns and steps across the floor. She added chinne turns into her dance and practiced the dance with streamers today.
Today Arianna worked on her balancing and preparation for piroutte turns as well as 1/2 jump turns and 1/4 jump turns. She added 32 more counts onto her dance (cross arms/super hero pose, bounces) and then repeated the chorus. We are keeping dance notes in her journal and eventually will take a video so she can practice at home.
At the end of class she had a dance party and was creating her own moves and not worrying about anyone watching. It was so nice to see her free dancing and forgetting about her surroundings. She was very excited about adding more combinations into the dance next week.

When she knows other kids my join her at the end of class she tries her best and gets so excited. Maybe we can have some students join her the last 5 minutes of class?
Arianna started class tapping to the beat of the song using various instruments. She practiced her jazz warm-ups, balancing and jazz skills such as chasse ballchange, pivot turns, chinne turns and robot dancing. She practiced her "Magic Dance" using scarves and streamers and ended the class with a free dance/dance party.

At times Arianna can get a little shy but having the other kids around really helped her today.
Arianna had anothet great day at dance class. Today she continued to create movements with ribbons and hoops. She warmed up again playing copy cat and doing the robot. She watched two ribbon dances on you tube which inspired her to try new movements with the wands and ribbons.

Really is getto g into creativity, was shy in beginning of year but finally lettnletting go
Today Arianna warmed up with partner stunts and robot movements. She created movements with the streamers and we played copy cat. She then added on to her magic dance and we wrote down and read movements in her dance journal. She ended the session watching ribbon dancing in the Olympics.

Arianna did an amazing job today staying on task. When she gets tired we usually switch to reading or watching dance.
Today Arianna warmed up and then focused on creating her own dance. She took movements that she knows well and began combining them to create a dance. We then wrote the dance down in a new dance journal so she will remember it. She is deciding if she is going to use streamer wands or magic wands in the dance.
