Lesson Comments
We compared the two types of functions by doing examples.
We will define a logarithmic function as the inverse of an exponential function. We will compare the graphs and show the relationship between the numerical values. We will look at the decibel scale and the Richter scale as examples of applications of logarithms.
Assignment
Evaluate logarithms.

Lesson Comments
Today's session with James was focused upon preparing him for the Algebra 2 Mid-Term exam tomorrow. We reviewed and practiced numerous problems provided on the mid-term study guide and James was well-focused and attentive. I mentioned that he will receive a very positive recommendation from me in connection with his application to the Benjamin School.
We will discuss functions from a numerical approach using tables of values. We will then discuss the symbolic representation and the graphical representation. Examples will be shown of the different representations of the same function.
