Lesson Comments
We had a very successful session. This topic is very interesting, especially the graphing part of the lesson.
We will go over the assigned problems in section 9.2 of the textbook. We will find derivatives of parametric equations. We will also find second derivatives and determine slopes of tangent lines and concavity.

Lesson Comments
We have completed our study of parametric equations. This also served as a review of differentiation. We briefly began the study of polar coordinates.
We will look at a physics example to introduce the concept of parametric equations using time as the parameter. We will do examples of graphing parametric equations.

We got off to a good start in this topic and also incorporated vectors into our examples. We will continue parametric equations tomorrow.
We are studying the conic sections: ellipse, parabola, and hyperbola. We will look at the equations of each and the information that the equation gives us in relation to the graph of each conic section. We will also find the equation if we are given the graph of a conic section.
Assignment

Lesson Comments
We completed the lesson and after reviewing the homework in the next session we will be able to begin a study of parametric equations. We are nearing completion of the material covered on the AP Calculus test and will then begin a time of preparing for the test.
We will study circles, ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas. We will start with the "locus" definitions. We will also look at the algebraic definitions and the symbolic definitions.
