Today Oliver completed all of his last lesson (5.03) in Module 5 and we began working in Module 6 with the pre-assessment and starting lesson 6.01. Tomorrow he has a conversation-based assessment phone call scheduled with Mr. Swails at 1pm. We also printed out all of the Module 6 lesson notes and study guides for him to use at home. I'm proud of his efforts in this class so far, good luck!

Good day! We are falling behind on our pace guide for completion, however, because Oliver is not doing much work at home. I left specific items for him to work on before next Tuesday, so we will see what next week brings.

Today Oliver and I spent time speaking with his FLVS teacher on the phone to complete his welcome call. Mr. Swails walked us through the online program, lessons, etc.
We printed the pacing guides and syllabus for the course and began working through it today as Oliver took the Pre-Assessment to check for background knowledge on the content.

Much more productive day today! Only had a few hiccups which I have emailed the flvs teacher about.
Zach completed part two of the final exam which involved analyzing 7 historical documents and using them and other explicit details to create an argument about the role US foreign policy played between 1900-1950. Zach constructed an outline and drafted and revised this extremely in-depth essay.

We had scheduled 120min to complete this exam, but Zach ended up needing a lot more time which offset how much time we could spend on English.
Today, Zach completed and submitted his module 9 DBA reflection. Next, he revised an assignment on the Farmer Alliance and lobbying in the 1870s which laid the groundwork for the populist party and the rise of William Bryan Jennings. Next, Zach focused on resubmitting quizzes in order to review for the upcoming exam and to increase his scores on some of them.
To begin, Zach revised and resubmitted an essay on the Civil Rights Movement. Next, we completed the last lesson from the last module on globalization, outsourcing, securities scandals, and the Great Recession. Zach took a short quiz, and then we prepared for his module 9 DBA. Next week, we will review for his final exam.
