Latin: Macy continued her review of Units 1 & 2 for lesson 13 workbook page 79. She conjugated “voco” (to call) in the present and perfect systems. This included providing tense and meaning for all 6 persons in the present tense, imperfect tense, future tense, perfect tense, pluperfect tense, and future perfect tense. She also provided the principal parts, present stem, and perfect stem. For grammar today, we looked at the third lesson of this unit on adjectives vs. adverbs. Macy practiced this skill with choosing the best word to complete the sentences and identified the words being modified. Additionally, we completed the next lesson on negatives. We read about using “no” and “not” as well as other negatives (such as nowhere, nobody, and wouldn’t). Macy tested her skills in this area with identifying the correct negative for the sentence and rewrote sentences to make corrections. She performed well with both tasks. We reviewed the prepositions song and Macy wrote them all for memory practice. The remainder of our session focused on literature. Macy worked to conclude her research of Abraham Lincoln. She revised and edited information that she wrote yesterday.
I reviewed science concepts, vocabulary, and introduced a pneumonic device with her. We discussed and reviewed: parallel and series circuits, static discharge, electrical charge, voltage, resistance, ferromagnet, electromagnets, fossil fuels and renewable energy. She is going to study at home for her test tomorrow
Complete the practice sets from Wednesday, Tuesday, and Monday.
