I read The Kissing Hand with the focus on how a kiss on the palm of your hand can help to overcome fears and promote independence. We role-played, pretending we were Chester and his mom. The story lent itself to talk about our left hand and our right hand. Hands were traced, labeled left and right, and glitter sprinkled on them.
