We went through the homework from last session on functions, then evaluated and graphed piecewise functions (including linear, constant and quadratic functions).
We worked on concepts involved with functions: definition, Vertical Line Test, evaluating functions (algebraically and graphically), domain and range (algebraically and graphically).
We reviewed some topics on the SAT and did practice problems with circles, intercepts and factors for quadratics and how they correspond to intercepts.
We continued with Quadratics and started to look at the process of Completing The Square. Then, I introduced the Standard Equation of a Circle and the General Equation of a Circle (finding the center and radius from the equation and vice versa, as well as conversion between each form).
We began the lesson today with review using practice problems on the SAT. She had several problems to go through with concepts we have covered so far.
Then, we continued the lesson with the equation of circles and completing the square.

I worry about her retainment regarding some of the information mostly for the SAT. She also gets side tracked and requires extra time to complete problems individually.
She picks things up quickly, but the retainment is hard. I will try to just do more practice every week with her to see if she starts recognizing things.
We are working with quadratic equations. Initially, we started with solving quadratic equations using the Square Root Property, then went through factoring trinomials to prepare to solve quadratic equations by the factoring method.
We did some more practicing graphing quadratic equations in standard and vertex form. Then, we began looking at complex numbers (simplifying, and operations) to prepare to start solving quadratic equations.
