Today Katya was working at a super fast pace painting the finishing touches on a Batt School three panel mural outside in the lunch area. I was happy to assist and I had an epiphany about Katya during this process. She would be a wonderful teacher! Katya guided me with great instructions, patience and encouragement. Katya is kind and has a great sense of humor when she interacts with other students. Today, especially, she complimented and praised so many students who were coming and going in and out to rehearse their performances. I told Katya I think she is a natural teacher and instructor!
To understand the 2nd Amendment the "right to bear arms," one must understand the historic times in which it was written and ratified. In 1787, Americans still had very strong and traumatic memories about defending themselves and their property from British soldiers. Yesterday, presidential candidate Joe Biden had some very strong words for an auto worker who accused him of wanting to take away Americans' guns. We viewed this brief exchange that took place while Biden was in Michigan yesterday. Biden emphatically and strongly stated that he is a gun owner himself. He said he does not want to eradicate the 2nd Amendment.
Is it appropriate that the president referred to WA Governor Inslee yesterday as a snake? Is it appropriate that the president said that Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sandra Sotomayor should recuse themselves from any decisions re: him and his presidency? These are some of the recent U.S. Government issues we spoke about today while Katya worked on a beautiful painting school project.
