Introduction to English IV
Sam and I will get to know one another, discuss what literature is, and share our expectations for not only the class content, but for one another. Student will also inform me of his background in terms of his personal background and his former experience with the works of literature he has encountered in prior classes.

Sam was friendly and attentive; he actively participated in discussion.
He began by telling me that he moved to Egret Landing recently and we shared that we were both from the Northeast and had been in Florida about 3 years. Sam told me about his many pets and that he liked dogs better than people. I appreciated his honesty and we agreed that we would both be honest with one another. We discussed different theories of education, and his plans to go to college in Syracuse. He intends to pursue a business degree. We reviewed the different types of literature including informational literature and we reviewed the different genres of literature as well. We discussed future reading selections. For our next session Sam will come to class with a song lyric to analyze.
