Katya and I discussed the pages that she had read for homework. We then finished reading the novel. We also finished answering the accompanying study guide/essay questions. We also discussed some possible essay topics for her to write as a possible final assessment of the novel.

Alexa and I continued our study of the novel. We discussed the pages that we had read previously. We then continued reading the novel. We then answered the corresponding essay/study guide questions. We also discussed Alexa writing a personal narrative paper to maintain her "A" grade in English. She agreed and will write a rough draft by Friday to show me.

Katya is taking the SAT tomorrow. So we reviewed for it. Katya wanted to study the grammar/English section. We did several practice questions. Katya answered the each question, and we discussed the answer. I also provided Katya some test-taking strategies to implement.

Printed out first draft of Process Paper on the art and science of putting. Critiqued first draft. Took draft to the next level.Discussed adding visuals. Discussed marketing the essay in junior golf magazine.Spent last half hour on vocabulary building. Next week, we are to spend our full time practicing for English portion of the ACT.

I explained the assignments that Andy left for Olivia. We discussed what she needed to do, and she said that she understood. She then had a little time to work on it. We briefly discussed how she could begin her college essay.

Katya and I completed the application activities in the vocabulary book for Lesson one set A. Katya used the flashcards that she created and did quite well. We then discussed a brief summary of the novel thus far. We continued reading the book. Katya will answer the accompanying study guide questions for homework.

Spent the full two hours organizing and developing a Process Paper that details the four steps a golfer must follow if he wants to avoid a three put.Making sure every part of every step was clearly described and no steps were left out was a challenge. Vlad had all the steps and the details in his head. The challenge was to put all that information into sentences in the right sequence, with all the tricky moments explained by describing the complication (the problem) and providing the solution.
