Alexa and I journaled for the first 15 minutes. Then she shared what she wrote. We then finished reading Act II. We answered the accompanying study guide questions as a springboard for our discussion. We analyzed all of Act II. We also interpreted several key passages. Alexa is enjoying the play and does quite well. We also discussed the significance of the supernatural in the play.
Alexa has shared that she is starting to journal. We will journal for the first 15 minutes of class. It is a great writing strategy/motivator. We then continued our discussion of Act II scenes I and II. We used the study guide as a springboard for our discussion. We interpreted lines and discussed characters. Alexa does quite well interpreting Shakespeare's language.
Alexa and I discussed the literary term conflict. We discussed internal and external conflicts. Macbeth has both of them. We also began reading ACT II. We stopped to discuss and answer the accompanying study guide questions for scenes I and II.
Alexa and I worked diligently on her college essay. We used her outline. We worked on embellishing her ideas and providing concrete examples. We completed the essay today, but we need to review, revise and edit it tomorrow because we ran out of time.
